Most people who have had an abortion don’t tell anyone. They suffer silently and alone. It may have been years since your abortion but your sense of loss and guilt has not lessened. One out of every five women in the church have had at least one abortion. If you have had one or more abortions or led someone else to abort their child and are suffering from feelings of guilt and loss, or you are experiencing any of the symptoms listed below, there is help available.

Post Abortion Syndrome:
Some women who have had an abortion may suffer from a variety of negative emotional reactions such as an inability to complete the grieving process; self-destructive behaviors such as eating disorders or substance abuse; and relationship issues. Post Abortion Syndrome (PAS) is a term used to identify these emotional problems. PAS is a type of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and can occur when a person undergoes a traumatic experience which is beyond their normal ability to cope and results in intense fear, feelings of helplessness, or loss of control.

Common Post-Abortive Symptoms:
Sleeplessness, nightmares
Addictions
Eating Disorders
Fear of Intimacy
Sense of loss
Depression
Flashbacks to the abortion
Sexual dysfunction
Unable to accept God’s forgiveness
No interest in children OR Excessive interest in children
Promiscuity
Irritability
Anxiety
Constant Stress
Fear of punishment from God
Fear of others learning of abortion
Isolation
Inability to complete grieving process
